2 months agoI was hesitant to write this because they seem like great people and its nice place to sit and eat. But 2-3 hours after having a chicken burrito i had the worst food poisoning of my entire life. Throwing up 6-7 times from 1 am to 7 am. Im not sure what caused it whether it was undercooked chicken or lettuce or dairy. But man it was very torturous to go through that. please make sure everything is cooked thoroughly and ingredients are fresh and packaged and handled well.

3 months agoBest tacos in NYC. Try the Al pastor tacos-tostadas and nachos. Drinks are good too (horchata).

11 months agoGreat tacos at an affordable price, with friendly service. Open late! We enjoyed 3 tacos each for $18 (total), took our time eating/talking, and left feeling full and happy at midnight on a *Tuesday*. 🌮 It's a great deal for a lowkey meal. Perfect spot for food after drinks, dancing, or just about anything. They also have a full menu with entrees, desserts, and Mexican aguas frescas and drinks. This is a no-frills hole-in-the-wall venue, so you know it's good!

a year agoLos Portales is a hidden gem! I ordered takeout and was blown away by the quality of the food. I had a pulled pork/carnita taco, which was okay, but the steak taco was excellent. The highlight of my meal was definitely the al pastor torta—it was amazing! The sauces were also fantastic and really added to the flavor of everything. On top of the great food, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. It can be a bit tricky to find parking at night, but it’s well worth it. Hands down, the best Mexican food I've ever had!

2 years agoone of my top mexican choices the steak tacos and burritos are amazing. love the green sauce that has a kick of spicy. best sauce in the city! they didn’t have queso and chips, nor nacho jalapeno the place is solid to eat inside. parking is easy and free, right on the street of it if after 7 pm

3 years agoThe food here is AMAZING. Have been coming here for years and recommend this to everyone I know and no one has ever been disappointed. I saw a comment about the restaurant being cleaner or fixed up— they recently remodeled and it looks great. This place is a favorite and will continue to be one. 10/10 you should try it

3 years agoAbsolutely one of the best taco places in NYC. Many people are sadly missing out on this spot because it's in Astoria. Amazing tacos for $2.50 each is a steal. I live in Brooklyn but I travel out here to get tacos at least once a month. Employees are very friendly and food is also amazing.

6 years agoAmazing home cooked tasting food! Absolutely delicious, fresh and HUGE quantity of food for great price! They have one of a kind flavors and this extends to the 3 hot sauces to choose from conveniently located on the table.
